There’s something so good about late summer produce. A simple stroll down the stands of a Farmers’ Market is a feast for every shopper’s senses. Rows of colorful fruits and vegetables are arranged along the tables, showcasing a variety of options that will inevitably start to fade in the fall. Perhaps most notably, baskets upon baskets of heirloom tomatoes are displayed on the stands, catching the shoppers’ eyes like light attracts moths, and eventually forcing them to give in and purchase a diverse selection. Passion Project: Spaghetti Squash with Pork Sausage
Hope you all enjoyed learning about chicken through my passion project week! Now that we’re done with the bird, we’re switching to the hog. Pork is an incredible animal! It’s rich, full of flavors, and starting to steal the show on restaurant menus again. Since it’s less practical for me to buy a full pig, I won’t be posting through the week like for chicken. I will, however, select a few cuts to explore and post these. Continue reading “Passion Project: Spaghetti Squash with Pork Sausage”
Creamy Ricotta and Caramelized Eggplant Rotini
Today, I went to a “Cheese Crawl” organized by DiBruno’s to celebrate their 75th anniversary. It involved walking across Philadelphia to stop at each of their location for free samples of cheese, chocolate, and drinks among others. Surprisingly, the pouring rain didn’t stop this event from being a huge success. Continue reading “Creamy Ricotta and Caramelized Eggplant Rotini”
